Craft Toys for Christmas

Christmas is heading for parents quickly and the shopping season begins. The yearly challenge of what to buy your children, nephews, nieces and grand children looms large. What to buy that’s not a video game for the latest gaming console and watching them learn how to destroy, but more focusing on creating something from their own imagination. Children often need room to express their ideas and learn new techniques. Something that will keep them happy for hours and allow parents or grand parents to get involved in and help, or leave the child to create their own world.

Here at  we have been researching and trying to find products that will inspire a child’s imagination and help them build something new. There is now a range of toys and gifts that are creativity based.

The Creative Toys & Gifts offer:

We hope you find something different to keep your kids creative and entertained for hours.

Lets Go Fly a Kite . . .

Summer is here and we have both wind and sun. A great time for children to learn the art of flying a kite!

It's not hard and brings hours of family fun. Today there are many different kite types, but at KidzCraft we have selected a few that are colourful and fun shaped. The photos below are only a few examples, more can be found in our shop.

There maybe some father's who remember throwing a plastic man on a parachute from their bedroom window and watching it glide to the ground. KidzCraft also supply these Sky Warrior toys for endless fun.

The Mary Poppins film said it all, Lets Go Fly a kite.

Kids T-Shirt Painting Party Idea

Paint your own cool message on a t-shirt!  A fun kids party idea for both girls and boys of all ages.

All you need is:

  • T-shirts
  • Fabric Paints or Pens or both
  • Paint Brushes and Paint Pallets
  • Stencils or Templates (optional)
  • Kids with imaginiation

Ask the children coming to your party to wear some old clothes that will be ok to get paint on.  Lay t-shirts out on either a covered and protected table or on the floor.  Put a piece of cardboard (cerial box) inside the t-shirt to keep it stretched flat and also to stop the colours running through to the back.  Decant fabric paint into palettes and space out so everyone can reach one easily.  Apply fabric paint with a brush, sponge or a finger.  Paint usually dries within an hour depending upon thickness applied.  Fabric pens are touch dry immediately.

Encourage the kids imagination with some pictures to copy, templates printed out to place inside the t-shirt and draw over or provide/make some stencils.

Kids will have so much fun and will be proud of their work once complete.

What to do in the summer with your kids?

Today, many mothers are trying to juggle their children, work, managing a household and if possible a social life too. It's often challenging to find a new activity to occupy the children in the school holidays.  Whatever the British weather this summer, children will enjoy creating some great artwork.  Craft activities can be completed in the house or garden with any number of children.  You will find the kids will concentrate and wish to make something unique, colourful and different.  Its a great way to keep them entertained at the same time as teaching them new skills and providing new experiences and techniques. This is one of many reasons why KidzCraft was born in 2003, to provide activities that children will love to make, that are not too expensive and will last an hour or so while recognising that each activity needs to be fun and have easy instructions.

So with this in mind, here are some great ideas for fabric painting to occupy the kids this summer:

Design and paint:  T-ShirtSand Lizard, Frisbee, Caps, Teddy's T-shirts or Pencil Case

Its a good idea to give the kids a piece of paper to design first and then paint after.  Use a choice or mixture of Fabric Paints, Fabric Marker Pens, 3D Fabric Paint and you could even add some jewels and embellishments on too for extra fun.

More details can be found in the shop, here.

Pottery

Alternatively you can paint potttery of all sorts, this is a little easier activity. Pottery painting can be found in the shop, click here

Jewelery

Or if your children like making bead necklaces, then you will find an assortment of necklaces in our shop, click here

Happy creating!
